The History of Dulong Tangke St.
In this article, we searched for the story behind the street names. For us, to find out the story behind it we went to the Barangay Malinta to ask some information for the street names and made some interview for some people living there for many years and definitely can explain to us the story behind the street names we have chosen.
First Street, that we have searched for the history is Dulong Tangke. I and my group mates have an interview for a person living there named Nanie Lacsa she said that, there is cannon found near that street or Dulong Tangke and these cannon can be found now at the City Hall of Valenzuela.
Our second interviewee is Mr.
Ernesto Eustaquio, a 77 years old and living in Dulong tangke since birth.
He resigned for being a Lupan Tagapamayapa last January 13, 2013 on his
Barangay which is Malinta. Mr Eustaquio stated that before, the Dulong Tangke
is a field or a farm, and there is a tank that can be found there that they
commonly called “Baterya” and that tank is well-square shape, where the people
living there washed theirclothes. That tank was already part of Malinta and the
cannon are already part of Malinta. On the other hand, this cannons used and
saved by the weapon during “World War”. Since 1936, the tank can be seen as a
water tank, when the population of St. Jude became bigger the street replaced
as Dulong Tangke.
Mr. Eustaquio is a former President of Dulong Tangke Home Owners
Association (DTHOA) who built the elder organization. He also said that before
it called asSitio Malinta but when Marcos became a
President the Sitio Malinta became Barangay Malinta. Before Malinta is a part
of Polo, Bulacan with that information that we have got we can say that we got
enough information to know about the story behind the street name that we chose.
